​Department of Economic Theory

The Department of "Economic Theory" (until 1996 the Department of "Political Economy"), being an integral part of the structure of the KSU named after academician B. Gafurov, was organized in 1967. The first head of the department was associate professor Kupriyanov V.S. Over the years, the heads of the department were prominent scientists such as Jalilov T.D. Kurbanov A.A., Ayubov A.A., Rakhimov A.M., Majidov A.M., Abdugafarov A.A., Ismailov M.M. Since 2020, the head of the department is Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor Alijanov D.A. Alijanov D.A., Ismailov M.M., Allashukurov B.E., Abduvalieva N.A., Khaidarov B., Norzhigitov R.O., Uzokova G., Usmonova Sh. other.

The teaching staff of the department is constantly striving to improve the educational process and the training of highly qualified personnel. Lectures and practical classes are conducted at the department in the subjects of "Economic Theory", "Microeconomics" and "Macroeconomics". For each discipline of the department, the teaching staff prepared scientific programs in accordance with the requirements of modernity. To improve the quality of the taught disciplines, methodological guidelines have been prepared, which reflect the main directions of educational and methodological work.

At the department, special attention is paid to the training of scientific personnel. It is possible to enumerate the successes of the department in this direction, in 1998 the docent of the department Jalilov T.D. defended his doctoral dissertation, Ayubov A.A. defended his thesis in 1980, Rakhimov A.A. defended candidate (2000) and doctoral (2005) dissertations, Ismailov M.M. defended his doctoral dissertation in 2007. Candidate's dissertations were defended by D.A. Alijanov. (2004), Uzokova G.M. (2011), Saidulloeva D.K. (2011), Nosirjonova M. (2019), Allashukurov B.E. (2019), Abduvalieva N.A. (2019), Alijanov D.A. completed his doctoral dissertation in 2021. The topics of defended dissertations were aimed at solving modern economic problems of the republic.

The contribution of the teaching staff in the development of research work is very obvious. The scientific works of the department from the day of its formation to the present day cover various problems of economic reforms. For the period 2020-2025, the scientific topic of the department is aimed at studying the economic problem of modern Tajikistan and summarized under the general title "Socio-economic development of the Republic of Tajikistan in the context of accelerated industrialization of the national economy." As part of a scientific study of this topic, all teachers of the department are covered. During the 45 years of its existence, the scientific activity of the department was aimed at solving urgent economic problems, which are covered in numerous monographs, scientific articles and reports. All teachers of the department actively participate in various conferences. Including young teachers of the department Abdurakhmanova Z., Mirboboeva M., Kholmatova D. actively participate in conferences of young scientists of the republic and beyond.

At present, the department has a scientific circle, in which more than 20 students participate.

Teachers of the department take an active part in the social life of the faculty, university, city and region. The staff of the department "Economic theory" directs all its efforts to the training of highly qualified personnel.
